Project Management
The VSc project management approach is derived from many years of experience implementing business and transport management solutions into a wide range of businesses. The methodology is process driven where the project is divided into separate processes with associated activities and well defined goals. The framework enables all involved parties to monitor the progress of the project, controlling change management and assessing potential risks throughout the project.
Discovery - During the discovery stage the purpose and objectives for the project are agreed and the scope of the project is defined. A draft project plan is drawn up.
Design - The design stage firms up the details of the project and a full solution design report is produced. From this a more detailed project plan can be developed and project milestones agreed. Project teams are assigned and training plans can be agreed.
Delivery - The project will be delivered against the agreed project plan and a procedure for change management is put in place. Regular project meetings are held to review progress.
Project Reporting - Throughout each stage of the project VSc recognise the importance of providing clear visibility of project progress to all interested parties and this is reported via a set of standard documentation comprising:
- weekly project report - listing completed activities and the tasks for the next 2 weeks with red, amber, green ratings to help identify slippage and risks
- minutes drawn up for each project meeting
- an ‘action register’ to keep track of items requiring action/feedback as the project implementation progresses
